The objectives of this research are to:
| 1. | Explain, through the use of case studies, with a particular focus on transparency, tax, and valuation, how cadastral systems in comparable jurisdictions: |
| a. | operate in practice, associated costs, funding mechanisms, and benefits of the approach; |
| b. | the data used/required, noting data sources and quality; |
| c. | who typical users are, the volume of use, and for what purposes; |
| d. | explain any other relevant issues, considerations, or constraints that may exist. |
| 2. | Suggest issues and/or areas for future consideration and/or research that would be necessary should Scotland wish to purse the development of a cadastral system. |
