description

The key objective of this service is to produce an indicative 5 year programme of Roadside Technology renewal schemes for the RIS3 period.

This will provide a consistent approach across all regions. This will deliver a prioritised approach to development of roadside technology renewal schemes that shows a demonstrable link to the RIS3 investment case, national priorities and required performance targets, notable 95% technology availability of assets.

The final financial settle for the renewals of roadside technology in RIS3 has not yet been formally concluded. However, it is known that RIS3 funding will be a significant increase on that of RIS2.

Having an indicative 5 year RIS3 programme will allow National Highways to give pipeline visibility to roadside technology equipment suppliers and design/delivery contractors whilst offering increased flexibility to react to future contract and organisational changes due to happen during RIS3.
