description
The work is to be undertaken in accordance with the SBRI application 60979-444218 part 8 submitted to and held by Innovate UK for the Fuels and Lubricants programme.
To develop and demonstrate an advanced in-field analysis instrument for monitoring the condition of lubricating oil in MOD assets.
The key deliverables of the project are as follows:
- A customised spectrometer which measures infrared absorption properties to determine contaminants and monitor chemical changes due to oxidation, combustion by-products or incorrect lubricant top-up.
- Optimised sensors for integration within the sampling region and minimise sample volume requirement.
- Software to compare and interpret the test values and issue guidance to end-users.
- An appropriate housing to combine the spectrometer and sensors in an easy to use package and space models or similar produced.
- Final Phase 1 report.
