description

The Scottish Ministers, Marine Directorate invite tenders for the purchase of marine acoustic release receivers capable of detecting miniature acoustic transmitter fish tags operating at 69khz.Up to 10 acoustic release receivers are required each with a mooring recovery system. The receivers should be able to detect and store acoustic tag information from tags used for marine salmon smolt tracking. The receivers are required to work on commonly operated tag protocols including the Open Protocol codemaps at 69khz.The area of sea where the proposed work is occurring is <100m in depth and is used by other loch users including creelers. It can also have areas of free floating seaweed accumulation. Therefore it is necessary that the mooring recovery system minimises entanglement possibilities as far as possible. The acoustic releases and mooring recovery system should be able to recognise instruction from either a Thelma deckbox or an Innovasea VR100 deckbox.
