description

This framework agreement is being established by The Royal Botanic Garden Edinburgh to procure freelance graphic design services in order to supplement the in-house graphic design team. The successful suppliers will be expected to provide on-demand graphic design support for various projects, including but not limited to marketing materials, reports, digital content, branding, and other design tasks.

The Development and Communications division at the Royal Botanic Garden Edinburgh encompasses the following core practices and teams:

  • Marketing and Communications
  • Publications
  • Fundraising, both corporate and major donors
  • Membership and individual giving

The division wishes to appoint graphic designers/artworkers to help manage overflow situations to work on a freelance basis with the teams above to support the delivery of reactive graphic design for marketing, communications, publications and income-generating purposes.

The successful suppliers will support the organisation’s in-house graphic designer to produce a host of projects, working with individual team members on specific design and creative solutions. They will liaise directly with internal stakeholders and may also have some contact with contracted external production and printing companies.

Most of the work can be undertaken off-site but there may be the requirement for the occasional site visit to the Edinburgh Garden. The work will consist of the production and project management (responding to briefs, communication with stakeholders, etc), graphic design and artworking (mainly using Adobe Creative Suite software – InDesign, PhotoShop, Illustrator and Acrobat).
