description
Delivering Change is a National Lottery Heritage Fund (NLHF) and Scottish Government-sponsored project. This programme represents a structural and systemic shift towards a museum sector which is truly inclusive, trusted and engaged with by all of Scotland’s people. Recognising the fact of systemic exclusion in the sector, this three-year project offers a flexible approach which will enable museums to place people at the heart of their work.
In May 2023, the programme completed a 9-month Development Phase. During this period an expert advisory group worked with the MGS-based project team to establish a plan for training, support, interventions, and funding to support change in Scotland’s museums. The development phase was further informed by extensive research, conducted by organisations including Museums Galleries Scotland (MGS).
The development phase identified three strands to the delivery of this necessary change: Learning, Leadership, and Funding. The delivery phase will run from October 2023 to December 2026.
MGS is currently seeking to appoint a contractor to undertake project monitoring and evaluation for the Delivery Phase.
