description

Marine Scotland invites bid for a project manager of its Clyde Riverine Litter Removal Project.Marine Scotland is responsible for delivering policy to meet our international and national commitments to reduce marine litter. The majority of marine litter comes from land and our riverine systems are a direct pathway of waste to our seas. Marine Scotland’s research concluded the River Clyde is a significant route for plastic waste to our seas. Scottish Government has a suite of measures in place and planned to reduce littering behaviour and reduce sources of litter though our Marine Litter Strategy and terrestrial National Litter Strategy which are currently under review. This project builds on marine litter prevention work to deliver a means of debris removal, intercepting waste before it reaches the marine environment.
