description
In 2012, the Scottish Government tasked MGS with launching a National Strategy for Scotland’s museums and galleries, which aimed to unite the sector in working towards a more sustainable future. Since launching the National Strategy, three corresponding delivery plans have been published. The latest plan, launched in March 2020, was developed in collaboration with the sector and sets out four areas of strategic focus, one of which is increasing digital capacity.
In response to this need, MGS seeks to work with a contractor in delivering an 18-month digital skills-based training programme, including an impact assessment at the end of the course. The programme will allow sectoral organisational leaders to effectively appraise their current digital position, whilst confidently and positively driving forward their digital vision through their organisation and the wider heritage sector.
