Kent Fire and Rescue Service (The Authority) is undertaking pre-market engagement to gain a better understanding of the current market for smoke generation equipment, training smoke fluids, and associated maintenance and support services used within firefighter training environments.

The Authority delivers a range of operational training activities including:

• Breathing Apparatus (BA) training
• Search and Rescue exercises
• Incident Command simulations
• Fire Behaviour Training

Smoke generation is a critical component of realistic training environments, enabling the simulation of zero-visibility conditions.

The Authority currently utilises portable smoke generation systems across multiple training sites. The systems require ongoing servicing, maintenance and consumable supply.
