This project aims to:
•Provide a defined list of variables that could impact front-end lighting intended to indicate the presence of a train to persons on or near the line •Provide insight on front-end lighting used on GB rolling stock; and the assumptions made on their visibility
•Indicate the degree of warning provided (in terms of distance between an oncoming train and the viewer) by front-end lighting that is: oCompliant with LOC&PAS (Rolling stock - Locomotive & Passenger) NTSN requirements
oInstalled on pre-TSI (Technical Specification for Interoperability) vehicles, including yellow front-ends
We are inviting suppliers to provide us a short summary of their capabilities and experience in this subject area to help us deliver a successful project. We welcome collaborative submissions or consortia, where expertise may be shared between organisations. If responding jointly, please specify the lead contact and delivery roles for each party. We are seeking to receive a response by 12:00PM (GMT), 11 September 2025 setting out your potential interest and further information you believe to be relevant using the structure.
