DESCRIPTION
DFE IT Group has embarked upon a Modernisation Programme, “Technology Fit for the Future”. The aim of the Programme is to transform the IT offering within the Department over the next 18 months, from a static infrastructure model, to a cloud-based, modern and efficient environment that will fully meet the Department’s current and future needs by being flexible, cost effective and secure.
The programme will:
| • | Deliver a new Cloud hosting solution prior to a planned change of head office location. |
| • | Deploy new tools and devices to enhance productivity and flexibility of the DfE workforce. |
| • | Migrate and modernise line of business applications, to improve efficiency and to reduce costs. |
| • | Enable the DfE to embrace the new ways of working provided by new functionality. |
OBJECT OF THE EVENT
We would like to invite interested suppliers to join us to take part in a Supplier Day. The supplier day is an open house event.
We will provide you with further information about our current proposals; the business drivers and our approach to procurement. We would hope to talk openly about how we best engage third-party suppliers to develop effective working partnerships. There will also be an opportunity to discuss future steps, the “what next?” after our current programme completes by March 2017.
