description
Parliamentary Monitoring Service Requirement. A central element of the work of the Greater London Authority (GLA) Government Relations Team and similar teams within Transport for London (TfL), London Fire Commissioner (the statutory fire and rescue service for Greater London),London Legacy Development Corporation (LLDC), the Mayor's Office for Policing and Crime (MOPAC), the Metropolitan Police Service (MPS), the London Ambulance Service (LAS) and the London Assembly (the 'GLA Group Government Relations Team' for the purposes of this document) is to monitor the activities of Government and Parliament as well as ensuring that staff across their respective organisations are kept updated regarding political announcements and developments.
This ensures that the GLA Group Government Relations Team can engage with Government and Parliament quickly and effectively on key pieces of legislation and other Government and Parliamentary activity to achieve their individual and group objectives.
The effectiveness of this work depends to a great extent on the timeliness and comprehensiveness of the information that received, and for this the GLA Group Government Relations Team relies on the information sent through by a Parliamentary Monitoring service provider.
Some of the constituent organisations require a weekly briefing document which brings together all relevant oral and written questions and answers from the previous week as part of their service.
