description

Cambridgeshire County Council (the Council) is seeking to enter into a Term Contract arrangement with a suitable organisation for the movement of temporary/portable buildings already owned by the Council, including providing temporary storage facilities where a direct transfer of a modular building between sites is not practicable. Movements of temporary buildings may include relocation from site to site, relocation on the same site or removal from site for disposal.

In addition to the movement of modular buildings from site to site, the Term Contract will incorporate most of the associated works necessary to effect complete installation and making ready for occupation of the buildings. These activities will include carrying out necessary enabling works to allow access, associated groundworks, and installing services and utilities as appropriate (water, gas, electricity, fire alarm and drainage, including installing ducts for future Client use, etc.).

Cambridgeshire County Council is a founding partner of LGSS, which is a collaborative arrangement between Cambridgeshire and Northamptonshire County Councils and Milton Keynes Council. The Term Contractor should note that it is the Council's intention that any future partner and/or customer of LGSS within the general areas of the East of England and the East Midlands shall also have access to this framework Term Contract. This includes all individual schools and academies and other public bodies within Cambridgeshire and Northamptonshire. All references in this Specification to The Council or The Client shall be deemed to include any authorised Client user of the Term Contract Full details of the requirement can be accessed within the published documentation.
