description

Cambridgeshire County Council, on behalf of the Eastern Highways Alliance, has awarded a framework of Contractors to undertake highway works to cover structural work, surfacing, road works and capital schemes for highways. Typical schemes may involve, but not exclusively, highway improvements, highway infrastructure works (including bridges, subways, culverts and retaining walls), public realm works (town centre enhancements), drainage improvements, canal works and other infrastructure works such as waste management facilities.

The following local authorities are members of the Eastern Highways Alliance (EHA):

  • Bedford Borough Council
  • Cambridgeshire County Council
  • Central Bedfordshire Council
  • Essex County Council
  • Hertfordshire County Council
  • Luton Borough Council
  • Norfolk County Council
  • Peterborough City Council
  • Southend On Sea Borough Council
  • Suffolk County Council
  • Thurrock Council

The framework will be divided into two lots:-

Lot 1 will cover schemes or packages of schemes with a value of up to £1.5m.

Lot 2 will cover schemes or packages of schemes worth between £1m and £20m. Schemes above £20m may be included, subject to approval from the EHA Board.

Both package orders for construction and time charge orders for design or Early Contractor Involvement (ECI) may be awarded through the framework.

The procurement is being led by Cambridgeshire County Council on behalf of the current and any future members of the Eastern Highways Alliance.
