description
The SES drainage team requires specialist support and advice on drainage and flood risk that is not available in house. The service will support the SES Drainage Team to make appropriate decisions about the drainage asset and to effectively manage risks associated with asset performance and the SES technical assurance service. It will facilitate improved in-house ownership of whole life decisions by promoting the right interventions at the right time and challenging less efficient ways of working.
The Consultant will provide specialist support and advice on drainage and flood risk that is not available in house.
The objective of the service is to assist the SES drainage team with but not limited to.
- Supporting delivering of business-critical commitments such as:
- oWater Quality Plan 2030 (see Appendix A)
- oNational Drainage Strategy Programme, and
- oRIS3 drainage renewal works.
- Providing technical advice on departures from DMRBs and MCHW
- Providing technical advice to feedback and queries on DMRBs and MCHW
- Supporting drainage handback reviews from DBFO contracts
- Ensuring accurate and useful performance indicator (PI) reporting to inform decision-making and asset management.
- Enabling effective implementation of climate change adaptation measures for drainage assets.
- Delivering agile technical support for ad-hoc requests, including compliance queries.
- Providing drainage focused asset management advice to inform whole life investment decisions across the business.
- Enhancing proactive engagement with internal and external stakeholders to improve efficiency and collaboration.
