description
- Preparation support
This phase will involve inputting to the initial design and set up of the grant scheme, joining preparation workshops and supporting Defra in preparing for the start of the assessment phase.
- Assessment
External representatives bring diverse perspectives, experiences, and expertise to the assessment panel. This diversity enhances the panel's ability to evaluate grant applications and consider a broad range of factors, leading to more well-rounded and informed decisions. Third party representation on grant panels can contribute to reducing bias and conflicts of interest in the assessment process. This impartiality helps ensure fairness and integrity in the evaluation of grant applications. WRAP specialists will provide independent food waste/redistribution expertise to assist in the evaluation and assessment of grant applications. WRAP's food redistribution specialists can provide valuable insight into complementarity of existing interventions and any potential overlaps or synergies.
This phase of support would include:
- Panel meetings.
- Assessment of specific applications and recommendations for grant awards.
- Working with Defra team to agree final grant approvals.
