The University of Sheffield's School of Mathematical and Physical Sciences with funding from EPSRC are looking to procure an Atomic Force Microscope. The instrument will be used for the characterisation of a wide range of materials including organic thin films and monolayers, molecular materials and molecular adsorbates on inorganic surfaces, metals, dielectrics, polymers and biological materials. It will be used to characterise the topographical properties of surfaces in contact and intermittent contact mode, lateral forces, the nanomechanical properties of materials and interfaces, and the magnitude of interaction forces between various kinds of probes and the aforementioned materials.
