Refurbishment of LRC Building Heating Plant (Falmouth University)

Electrical Services

The works associated with the Electrical Services include: -

 Stripping out and making safe the existing electrical services serving the redundant heating plant

 Power and controls wiring to mechanical plant (inc. accessories).  Upgrading plantroom light fittings and installing a new external fitting.  Earthing & bonding.

 Modifications to the fire alarm system

 Gas alarm system

 Data outlet to serve the HVAC control panel

 Inspection and testing

 Provision of temporary electrical supplies during the period of the contract including power to toilet extract fan, Andrews water heater and HWSR pump.

 Testing, O&M manuals, instruction and training of Employer's staff in use of electrical and specialist installations.

Mechanical Services

The works associated with the Mechanical Services include provision of: -  Chemical cleaning & flushing of existing distribution system & emitters.  Carrying out a pre-commission of the existing heating plant and the ventilation plant.  Stripping out the existing redundant heating plant.

 Stripping out the existing redundant CWST

 Providing a new heating system to serve the building including boilers, pressurisation unit / expansion vessels, flues, pumps, pipework, insulation and commissioning / balancing.

 Minor modifications to domestic water pipework.

 Modifications to gas pipework including provision of a gas meter, gas solenoid valve etc.

 Modify / upgrade HVAC control panel and controls (including BMS outstation, programming & graphics) to serve the upgraded heating plant, metering and gas detection panel.

 Pipework insulation and valve jackets.

 Commissioning / balancing of LPHW heating systems.

 Testing, operation and maintenance manuals, instruction and training of Employer's staff in use of mechanical and specialist installations

Builderswork

The buildersworks associated with the Mechanical and Electrical Services include provision of: -

 Removing existing concrete base for redundant boilers.

 Providing new concrete base to suit proposed boilers.
