The Council requires a suitably experienced contractor to undertake the construction of a 1st floor gym extension at Stokewood Road Leisure Centre, Bournemouth, due to a significant increase in the number of members.
The Leisure Centre is a locally listed building, built in the 1920s, owned by Bournemouth Borough Council and operated by BHLive, a not for profit Trust since 2010. The building comprises a swimming pool, ground floor gymnasium, 1st floor multi-purpose studio, changing rooms, spinning studio and other spaces.
The building will remain occupied and operational during the works. At the rear of the leisure Centre are a Children’s Centre and a boxing club which will also remain open during the works.
It is intended for the works to commence on 12 September 2016 and be completed by 31 March 2016. The deadline for submitting a tender response is 08 August 2016 at 14:00 through www.supplyingthesouthwest.org.uk
