description

As part of our Strategic Business Plan, National Highways is committed to leading an industry-wide approach to suicide prevention.

We want to demonstrate new capability to gather insight into suspected suicides on the SRN. The project will determine the feasibility to gather investigation files from police forces, coroners and other data sources to better understand the wider issues and opportunities for suicide prevention activities e.g. location, method, demographic, personal history, and distance travelled.

The approach will align with the existing fatal research project methodology but will take into consideration the different investigation processes that are in place for non-road collision deaths.
