Technical advice to the Geotechnical Team

The National Highways Geotechnical Team sit in the Geotechnics, Drainage and Pavements Group of the Asset Management Division within Safety, Engineering & Standards and provide geotechnical advice and certification services to scheme project managers for road projects and third-party works interacting with the Strategic Road Network (SRN). The team is also responsible for creating and maintaining policies, standards (DMRB, MCHW), and research and development to support delivery of National Highways business objectives and compliance with legal obligations.

HS2 will have a significant impact on the operation and design of the SRN because of the number of construction and operational interactions between HS2 works and the SRN.

Support is needed for a specialist geotechnical engineering advice to support the Geotechnical Team in delivering technical support for HS2 to fulfil National Highways objectives and obligations.
