description

There is now an opportunity to reshape the future of the Land Environment's industrial landscape. This is born out of an Army modernisation agenda that has re-established the UK industrial base, an opportune mid-decade opening to revise Support contract arrangements, and a prominent prosperity agenda running out of central government. By establishing a robust Land Industrial Strategy (LIS), the Army could better secure the capability it needs to counter the proliferation of threats in the World, while servicing the need to boost prosperity, 'level up' the Nation, reduce carbon emissions and promote 'Global Britain'. Early analysis shows that the benefits could include: greater availability of cutting-edge capability; £500M of support efficiencies; 10,000 jobs sustained across the country; £4Bn R&D invested in UK companies; up to £30Bn in increased export sales; and a major reduction in full petrol/diesel vehicles by 2035.

Requirement: Development of the Land Industrial Strategy (LIS) by the 31st March 2021.
