description
The University of Bristol (UoB) will be tendering for the provision of outsourced catering services at its Langford Campus in North Somerset, inclusive of a café providing hot/cold beverages, grab-and-go food and eat-in options, alongside delivered catering and working lunches around campus and event catering where necessary.
This opportunity is being tendered to attract catering organisations that can occupy the premises and operate under licence to provide the café refreshment provision to the stakeholders. In addition, the kitchen premises could be used for commercial purposes as part of outsourced services provision.
The main population of the Langford campus is made up of the Vet School and commercial business. There is a growing student population with circa 900 students on site and 114 additional coming on board this academic year who will remain on site with live-in accommodation.
The UoB Engineering Faculty will be establishing a site at Langford campus, bringing more students on site. Demolition will start in summer 2019 with a view to be up and running in summer 2020. In addition to this, 70-80 commercial clients are coming on site every day to use the Veterinary services who may use the café.
Turnover: In the 2017-18 academic year, the gross sales figures for the existing café facility were 171 732 GBP (144 099,63 GBP net) and the current academic year, gross sales are 187 844 GBP (157 270 GBP net). This is historical information and no guarantee of levels of business in the future.
The length of contract is yet to be confirmed, but expected to be 5-7 years.
In line with its corporate strategy, the University welcomes interest from local SMEs.
This procurement will relate to catering services which are listed in Schedule 3 of the Public Contracts Regulations (PCR) 2015 as a specific service under hotel and restaurant services.
The procurement will be conducted under the Light Touch Regime ('LTR') therefore subject to limited regulation and will be conducted in accordance with Regulations 74 to 76 PCR 2015.
It is envisaged that the tender for this opportunity will be live in October 2019: to be notified of this, please register your company on the UoB tendering portal at https://tenders.bris.ac.uk
