description

In January 2021 Sport England launched its ten-year Uniting the Movement Strategy ("UtM" or "the Strategy"), a collaborative vision to transform lives and communities through sport and physical activity (SPA) by causing change in the SPA sector and ecosystem, so that Sport England can work with stakeholders to give people the opportunities they need now and in the future to tackle the inequalities seen in sport and physical activity

As part of the 2022-25 Implementation Plan stage of the Strategy, Sport England seeks to change its offering to specifically target communities that have been traditionally left behind by collaborating with a more diverse set of partners to further identify, quantify, illuminate, and communicate the inequalities that exist in sport and physical activity and people's experiences, and has a requirement for research that identifies and illuminates what is successful and working well (i.e. bright spots) within alternative or parallel structures in supporting under-represented or marginalised groups to engage in sport and physical activity.

Sport England is appointing the supplier to conduct research on the role different forms of provision play in making the sport and physical activity sector more inclusive and accessible for different audiences and communities. The Supplier will deliver a diverse mix of in-depth case studies that explores the work and success of organisations operating in support of those communities, as well as the attitudes, experiences, and perspectives of the individuals and communities who engage with and benefit from their services.
