description
Market Engagement Event
Walsall Children’s Services is seeking a framework of providers to deliver supervised contact for children and young people looked after by the local authority. The Authority will be tendering for these contracts to be in place by 1st February 2017 and seeking to talk to organisations about the services required. The Authority’s policy and approach to the provision of supervised contact has been reviewed and updated and aims to ensure that looked after children enjoy the right amount of good quality contact.
The majority of contact takes place at the Authority’s dedicated contact centre with approximately 70% of all contact taking place here. The remainder of which is predominantly activity based contact, focussed on the activity the child wishes to do during their contact session and giving parents and other family members the opportunity to take part in these activities.
Walsall Council is hosting a Market Engagement Event in September 2016 to provide;
-an opportunity for organisations to understand the Council’s commissioning intentions regarding the supervised contact services for Looked After Children.
-opportunities for potential Providers to engage with the Authority to understand its Service Users; and intentions and desired outcomes for the Service;
-organisations with information to effectively plan for any potential forthcoming procurement.
The event will take place on Thursday 15th September 2016, 10am until 12noon at Walsall Council, Council House, Lichfield Street, Walsall, West Midlands, WS11TW.
The venue has limited capacity, as such only two spaces will be allocated per organisation, on a first come, first served basis.
If you wish to attend please contact Laura Wood, Children’s Commissioning Manager via email: Laura.Wood@wallsall.gov.uk
