The Blaenau Gwent County Borough Council, in partnership with the Natural Resource Wales (NRW) have developed a collaborative #NN4 Building a Resilient Approach for Gwent Project that aims to achieve significant acceleration of Resilient Ecological Networks (RENs) and Nature Recovery in Gwent.This is a collaborative integrated project, working with partnerships including; Gwent Green Grid, Living Levels, South East Wales Rivers and others, with the aim to deliver Step 1 and Step 2 of the NRW’s National RENs Guidance. This provides a regional approach for Gwent, informing partners and stakeholders on post-HLF NN4 funded project delivery (Step 3 of the guidance) that maximises ecosystem services and resilience (diversity, extent, condition, connectivity) underpinning our wellbeing, prosperity, culture and identity across our distinct landscapes and habitats in Gwent. This includes delivery of:• Ecosystem service assessments• Drivers, Pressures State, Impact, Response (DPSIR) assessments• Future trending• RENs codesigning/mapping• Visioning/objective setting• RENs Delivery Planning• Legacy and Performance PlanningNOTE: The authority is using eTenderwales to carry out this procurement process. This project is for a duration of 22 months commencing June 2025 until March 2027.
