Machine Translation

Cardiff University require a machine translation software package that provides the following:• An online portal for our clients to submit their work requests that can be embedded into our intranet• A workflow management system for the Welsh Translation Unit and clients to be able to track progress of work requests (both internal and external) to ensure timely completion and delivery• Integrations with machine translation (MT) providers to aid with translation speeds• Machine learning, based on translation choices in the target language, provided by the MT AI• A customer memory bank of all previously translated materials (to speed up translation turnaround times)• Integration with our Squiz programme (to allow for seamless editing of web content)• Immediate analysis of word count to determine what is already in the memory bank and how many new words need to be translated• Immediate quote function to determine cost of translation, based on number of new words and external suppliers’ rates• A reporting and analysis function for data and performance monitoring
