Newport City Homes (NCH) wishes to appoint an experienced, competent and qualified Contractor to undertake renewal to the Landlord’s electrical services in each of the communal areas at one of its residential sites in Newport.The projects key elements will entail the renewal of electrical distribution and internal and external lighting and installations, plus renewal of door entry and intercom installations, lighting protection and surge protection controls. Works must comply with the latest edition and current standard of building regulations in Wales and Welsh Housing Quality Standard (WHQS).The form of contract will be a Joint Contracts Tribunal (JCT) Intermediate Building Contract with Contractor’s Design (ICD) 2016 Edition.The contract be for an estimated period of 3 months with 12 months defects period.The successful Bidder will be required to comply with Newport City Home’s policies and procedures as well as any statutory obligations that are relevant to the undertaking and delivery of these works. This will include but not limited to Health & Safety, IT Policies, Data Protection, Data Sharing and Processing and any confidentiality agreements as required by the Employer.Recent press releases will show NCH has commenced a journey to merge with Melin Homes to create a new organisation. The contracting authority considers that this contract may be suitable for economic operators that are small or medium enterprises (SMEs), however, the evaluation will be based solely on the criteria set out for the procurement.All tender costs and liabilities incurred by bidders shall be the sole responsibility of bidders.Newport City Homes reserves the right to award the contract in whole or part.Newport City Homes reserves the right to annul the tendering process and not award any contract.All documents to be priced in GBP and all payments will be made in GBP.All documents to be priced in GBP excluding VAT.(WA Ref:143995)Under the terms of this contract the successful supplier(s) will be required to deliver Community Benefits in support of the authority’s economic and social objectives.
