The Cardiff University Ancient DNA (CUAD) laboratory will be a positive pressure cleanroom, for molecular lab work (DNA extraction and library building). The laboratory will be a bespoke construction that will constitute a initial entrance into a gowning room, which will be connected to one room for raw sample processing (“preparation room”), and one room for molecular lab work (“main lab space”). This laboratory will be furnished with equipment to carry out these techniques using state of the art protocols, that Cardiff University will install separately. The main lab and preparation room are to be fitted with HEPA filters, to provide ISO8 to these rooms and a positive pressure that flows into the gowning area. Integrated LED Lighting, trunking with power sockets, flooring provided and installed as a part of the build, a control panel to monitor room status, and sliding doors.The cleanroom must be delivered within 8 weeks of us signing the contract, and installed and ISO tested within a further 4 weeks.
