Hotel Development, Rock Grounds Aberdare

The contract is for a Development Partner to design, develop and operate a aparthotel on Rock Grounds site in Aberdare.The development partner will be required to:1. Deliver a development allowing for the reuse of the buildings, preserving the attractive historic Rock Grounds building and features (including the Keir Hardie bust).2. Provision of a aparthotel with restaurant, bar and spa and appropriate use of the surrounding landscape.3. Allowing for shared space between the buildings to create a sense of unity.4. Preserve and enhance the character and appearance of the Aberdare Town Centre Conservation Area.5. The hotel should be a high rating under an accredited scheme such as Visit Wales Quality Grading or AA scheme.The Council will then enter into a commercial lease agreement for the building.
