Life Sciences Hub Wales seeks the provision of an up-to-date and continually updated Market Sector Database to enable horizon scanning for emerging life science and medical technology solutions which can be further developed, trialled and adopted in Wales.A Market Sector Database is required by Life Sciences Hub Wales to support the work of its internal Sector Intelligence Team, specifically to enable horizon scanning, technology scouting and market analytics for new healthcare innovations.The requirement is for access to a Market Sector Database that provides search functionality allowing Life Sciences Hub Wales to:- Identify solutions (providers and/or products) to meet enquiries from health boards and private industry;- Access market data to gain insight and understanding of the main manufacturers / suppliers and submarkets within the wider life sciences sector;- Gain information related to upcoming / currently marketed products; and- Seek detailed information and analytics to enhance internal understanding / appreciation of emerging and priority issues within the life sciences sector.The Market Sector Database must provide up-to-date information related to the target market sector(s) (life sciences), including specific company data that includes products, location (base and satellite), company size and financial information.The Market Sector Database must provide global coverage, but also ensure that data related to Wales is granular enough to enable a Welsh industry search when required.2.3 The Market Sector Database will be used internally on a daily basis by members of the Life Sciences Hub Wales Sector Intelligence Team exclusively, either proactively and independently to research the life sciences sector and to guide internal strategy or upon request by external stakeholders (stakeholders in public sector health and social care and stakeholders from private industry) for research into solutions and markets.The research attained via the Market Sector Database will typically form the basis of various reports produced by the Life Sciences Hub Wales Sector Intelligence team, for use both internally and externally.The intention is to source, procure and implement a fit-for-purpose Market Sector Database that is able to directly facilitate, or effectively replicate, the current functionality, application and processing with a view to also providing efficiency and added-value via additional features, functionality and capabilities.
