description
Swansea University's Awen Institute, a European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) operation, has awarded the provision of its final evaluation. As part of the evaluation of the 2014-2020 round of ERDF funding, the Welsh European Funding Office (WEFO) requires beneficiaries to undertake a robust programme of monitoring and evaluation. Whilst the 2007-2013 programmes focused on implementation, or ‘what works’, the emphasis for operations funded in the 2014-2020 programme is on identifying and providing evidence to support outcomes/results and impacts to understand ‘why’ and ‘how’ an intervention works. The Awen Institute (formerly called the Institute for Creative Ageing Industries, ICAI) began in 2019 and an inception and mid-term evaluation was carried out in 2020/21. A final evaluation of the operation has now been contracted, using the theory of change logic model developed during the inception evaluation, to evaluate against that model and data collected.
