Health & Safety – Competent Person

The Supplier will provide a high standard of advice and guidance to Revenue Scotland, to ensure that all the appropriate legislation relating to their work activity is complied with and to ensure risk assessments were suitable and sufficient. This will include health and safety in the workplace; hybrid working for employees and Board; management of buildings; and in relation to the specialist nature of the work of Revenue Scotland. Revenue Scotland’s employees may potentially be exposed to aggressive confrontation, for example, during tax compliance site visits and while engaging with taxpayers. Risk assessments for typical health hazards expected at high-risk sites when some of our employees are carrying out tax compliance visits would need to be drafted in line with current legislation. These exposures to health hazards and hostile behaviour may have a negative impact on the health and wellbeing of people in Revenue Scotland, therefore risk assessing and taking steps to mitigate the risk will be an important part of the work of the Supplier.
