South Lanarkshire Council has a track record of successfully assisting humanitarian programmes resulting from conflict abroad.
As a result of the conflict in Ukraine, demand for refuge accommodation and support across the United Kingdom has significantly increased.
As a result of significant and continued demand for accommodation and limited opportunity for move on from hotel accommodation, which is intended as a very temporary option, the Scottish Government has requested local authorities’ source suitable accommodation options to meet the needs of Ukrainian displaced persons and expedite the move onto more settled accommodation.
