description

Site condition Monitoring of Great Crested Newt and Natterjack Toad on several SAC and SSSI sites around the Solway Firth area to be completed by 31st March 2026.

This project will undertake field assessment using Common Standards Monitoring methods.

Please note that this is not a 'regulated procurement'; we are only using the portal, via a PIN, to reach a wider potential range of suppliers from which to select to invite to tender.

Sites of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI), Special Areas of Conservation (SAC), and Ramsar sites are designated on the basis of notified features of interest. These features of interest may be particular habitats or vegetation types, particular species, or particular geological or geomorphological features. Site Condition Monitoring (SCM) is a ten-year rolling programme of assessment, against quality standards, of the state of notified features of interest on designated sites.
