Pursuant to the delivery of the new road and active travel connection between Motherwell and Ravenscraig as part of the City Deal Ravenscraig Access Infrastructure project, the Council has acquired a number of land and building interests required for the construction and has undertaken enabling works (the development of the bridge crossing of the West Coast Main Line railway.These land and buildings have been acquired over time and will become vacant from the current occupiers at different times prior to the commencement of either demolition works or the main construction works at which time the contractors will be responsible for site security. In this period following the land and buildings becoming vacant and prior to the demolition and main works it is necessary to secure the existing buildings and land to:- prevent unauthorised access to unsafe land and buildings awaiting development- prevent damage, misuse, tipping and/or other contamination- protect enabling works from vandalismThe scope of the contract is to provide a site specific security services including: visible deterrent, remotely monitored CCTV security, intruder detection, wireless motion sensors and 24 hour response. The commencement and duration of security for each site varies owing to current condition of each site, the timing of it becoming vacant, being demolished and cleared where appropriate.
