description

SEPA install bathing water Variable Message Signs (VMS) to display the water quality at a number of locations throughout Scotland. SEPA undertake modelling which allows them to make a prediction of water quality for particular bathing waters for that day. A message is displayed on the message sign informing the public of the bathing conditions for that day. The signs are currently installed at their bathing water locations.

SEPA currently has signs installed at 33 locations covering 31 bathing waters. A new sign type is being developed and some of these existing locations are to have the old signage removed and new sign plus associated infrastructure installed. The decommissioned signs are likely to redeployed at new locations. The successful contractor will be responsible for:

  • Decommissioning of existing signs and redundant signage infrastructure at locations where new signage is to be installed;
  • Installation of new signage including associated signage infrastructure
  • Re-installation of ‘existing signage’ at new locations including associated signage infrastructure
  • Ad hoc maintenance at sites
