description

This project aims to explore and make recommendations on how to capture, document and record the experiences of ‘under-represented’ people who live and / or pass through the Highlands of Scotland, and whose presence and contributions are important in understanding and presenting a more nuanced picture of the changing social, cultural and economic dynamics of the Region. This project has emerged from ongoing conversations with Dr Maya Darrell-Hewins (Shetland) drawing on her expertise in Community Archives and High Life Highland (HLH)- Highland Archive Centre. Through these conversations potential gaps have been identified in groups/communities and topics across the Highlands which are historically underrepresented in the Highland Archive Centre collections.
