This PIN provides prior notification and invites responses of interest (with no obligation) for a forthcoming tender expected in early 2020 for feasibility and design work, including estimated costings and financial projections, for ground or water source heat pump systems for buildings owned by Scottish Canals, many of which are situated adjacent to canal waterways.
Initially focus is on 3 locations: Glasgow, Bowling near Dumbarton, Ardrishaig.
The study will also include a detailed overview of the potential for ground or water source heating systems across all Scottish Canals buildings within the defined Interreg Atlantic Area of Scotland (https://www.atlanticarea.eu/page/2 ), with a view to potentially extending or replicating the results to Scottish Canals buildings across the rest of Scotland.
Scottish Canals has more than 100 properties in the area including canal customer toilet/shower facilities, offices, retail units, visitor centres, residential buildings, workshops.
