description

-initial control of approximately 15.5 ha. of invasive rhododendron bushes on private land and close to the public road in Glen Creran, Argyll. Control methods will vary according to the height of bushes. ‘Cut-and-burn’ , ‘cut-and-chip’ and ‘cut-and-stack’ are the preferred methods for sites with bushes over 1.3 metres in height with foliar spraying of bushes with glyphosate herbicide for areas of bushes less than 1.3 metres in height. Cut stumps will be treated with herbicide and marked with dye at the time of cutting.
-one follow-up foliar spraying treatment of rhododendron regrowth in the areas subject to initial control plus an additional 1.3ha. that have already been cleared. This work will take place approximately two growing seasons after the initial treatment.
