Merseyside Police are exploring our current outsourced managed uniform stores service options with the potential to go out to tender for this service.

The main contract provisions will include the following:

  1. - Storage and distribution of items of uniform, equipment, body armour and Force stationery to Officers & Staff within Merseyside Police force area.
  2. - Provide a stock control & forecasting system to enable Merseyside & the potential provider to manage the stock levels. The system is to have accurate management information reports to ensure efficient stock holdings and timely distribution of items.
  3. - Provide a electronic ordering system / portal for Officers & Staff to raise orders direct. The approximate number is circa 5 - 6,000.
  4. - Provide a regular fitting service on site for all new recruits and existing Officers.
  5. - Ensure the safe and secure disposal of all obsolete and unwanted items of uniform, equipment, body armour & Force stationery.
  6. - Provision of generic seamstress service. For example to sew insignia and / or medal ribbons onto personal tunics. Ideally to include provision of embroidery service. For example embroidered sliders / tunic patches / other embroidered badges as required.
