Lithium Battery Storage Containers

The National Oceanography Centre has awarded a contract to S Jones Containers Ltd for the supply and installation of custom-designed lithium-ion battery storage containers. The contract includes the design, manufacture, delivery, installation of specialist battery storage units incorporating integrated fire detection, protection and suppression systems, temperature monitoring and cooling functionality, audible and remote alarm systems, and bunded containment arrangements for the collection and management of contaminated firefighting water in the event of a fire incident.

The solution provides a secure, compliant and purpose-built environment for the storage and operation of lithium-ion battery systems, supporting the organisation's operational and energy resilience requirements.
