National Grid Interconnectors Limited (NGIL) is the owner and operator of the electricity interconnector known as IFA1. NGIL and its Joint Venture Partner, Réseau de Transport d'électricitié (RTE), procured the installation of the Land Cable and the Submarine Cable for IFA1.

National Grid IFA2 Limited (NGIFA2) is the owner and operator of the electricity interconnector known as IFA2. NGIFA2 and its Joint Venture Partner, RTE, procured the installation of the Land Cable and the Submarine Cable for IFA2.

National Grid North Sea Link Limited (NGNSL) is the owner and operator of the electricity interconnector known as North Sea Link. NGNSL and its Joint Venture Partner, Statnett SF, procured the installation of the Land Cable and the Submarine Cable for North Sea Link.

National Grid Viking Link Limited (NGVLL) is the owner and operator of the electricity interconnector known as Viking Link. NGVLL and its Joint Venture Partner, Energinet Eltransmission A/S, procured the installation of the Land Cable and the Submarine Cable for Viking Link.

The Employer wishes to retain a suitably qualified contractor to undertake offshore and onshore repairs to the Land Cables and the Submarine Cables, where required.

The appointed Contractor has necessary capability and experience in the repair of electricity interconnector cables and will provide such jointing and other repair services in accordance with the provisions of this Agreement.

The Agreement includes a provision for Additional Services. Additional Services means:

(a)pre-emptive repairs;
(b)desktop surveys for Fault finding;
(c)testing and Fault analysis (root cause analysis);
(d)repairs to the Joint Venture Partner Cable (excluding vessel procurement, cable burial and unburial);
(e)repairs to any National Grid Group Cable Link (excluding vessel procurement, cable burial and unburial);
(f)performance of the role of Principal Designer and/or Principal Contractor; and/or
(g)any other additional work and/or services performed by the Contractor in relation to this Agreement,

instructed by (as the case may be):

(h)the Employer in respect of the Land Cables and/or Submarine Cables;
(i)the Joint Venture Partner in respect of the Joint Venture Partner Cable; or
(j)any member of the National Grid Group (other than NGIL, NGIFA2, NGNSL and NGVLL) in respect of any National Grid Group Cable Link.

The Employer will engage the Contractor via a Work Order or a Fault Notice where the Interconnector Asset relevant to the Cable Repair will be specified.
