Provision of Masters in Public Health (MPH) Course) - University of Sheffield

To facilitate our newly appointed Public Health Registrars to undertake Masters based qualifications, an essential part of the Specialty Training Programme, which is delivered over 5 years. This will be facilitated by the University of Sheffield.

Essentially, a similar BC was produced for the very same purpose two years ago. This facilitated the issuing of Contract: C304425. This contract was then extended by one year in 2025. However, colleagues in Commercial Contracts have confirmed that there is no clause to allow a further extension.

The 1st year of Public Health training is spent doing the MPH, supported by experience within a local authority. Without completion of the MPH, the Registrar is unable to complete the remainder of their training, which is a mandatory curriculum requirement (Faculty of Public Health).
