Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards (DoLS) have been flagged as a concern for some councils from CQC assessment.

Alongside assessment and support waiting times, DoLS waiting times are a focus of the CQC assurance process and provides indicators in relation to the quality of experience of people requiring care and support from a council and those with more complex needs.

The nationally published DoLS annual data collection evidence where waiting lists are longest, and where councils have the highest number of people waiting for over a year.

This piece of work will offer expert support to councils who would like to further develop their DoLS processes and improve timescales.
