description
Persistent Organic Pollutants (POPs) in Construction and Demolition (C&D) Waste Phase II The purpose and scope of the project is to undertake additional analysis of existing samples, and collect a small number of additional samples where necessary, to build on our preceding study on “Persistent Organic Pollutants (POPs) in Construction and Demolition Waste”. This is follow-up work for additional or repeat goods, services or works. This is where the contracting authority wishes to buy additional or to partly replace existing goods, services or works which are the same or compatible with existing provisions (both those already supplied or that are contracted to be supplied). In this case, a direct award may be made where a change of supplier would result in the contracting authority receiving goods, services or works that are different from, or incompatible with, the existing goods, services or works, and that difference or incompatibility would result in disproportionate technical difficulties in operation or maintenance. We would like to engage Water Research Centre (WRc) as a supplier by direct award to deliver the POPs in C&D Waste phase II project. This new project (phase II) is follow-on work to the two-year POPs in C&D Waste phase I project (Atamis ref: C21916) which was procured via Open Competition. Phase I was successfully delivered by WRc and concluded in March 2025. WRc already hold approximately three quarters of the samples needed for this new project (phase II) with about half of these samples already prepped and with the specialist lab in Amsterdam. Approximately a quarter of new samples will be required for this project.
