description

Peripheral Intravenous Cannulas and related products are short-term devices used to access veins for fluid or medication delivery and blood sampling. They come in various forms including safety and non-safety, winged, ported, and straight. These devices are not intended for central vein access.

Also included in the scope of the procurement are:

Subcutaneous infusion sets
Metal needle winged devices with extension
Safety Integrated Cannula (also referred to as closed loop systems)
Safety Canulation Packs
Accessories designed to enhance the efficiency and accuracy of patient cannulation. Including training aids.

It is anticipated that initial expenditure will be in the region of £35,000,000 (ex VAT) in the first year of this Framework Agreement, however this is approximate only and the values may vary depending on the requirements of those bodies purchasing under the Framework Agreement. Estimated value over the 2-year Framework Agreement will be in the region of £70,000,000 (Ex VAT). There will be an option to extend the Framework for a further 2 years. If the extension period will be utilised, then the total value of the Framework across the 4 year would be approximately £140,000,000 (Ex VAT)

Preliminary market engagement was carried out, with a PME Notice being published 30 July 2025.
