Works to restore the Birnbeck Pier Structure connecting the mainland to the Birnbeck Island. This structure is Listed Grade II*.
In summary, the works within scope are:
- The removal, renovation and replacement of Birnbeck Pier bridge.
- Dismantling and re-erection of the two bridge abutments.
- Reinstatement of 14 No. Semi-circular cantilevered bays.
- Bench seating running longitudinally along pier length (option dependant on budget).
- Appropriate lighting (option dependant on budget).
