description
Transport for London (TfL) is seeking interest and feedback from the market for an exciting opportunity to support the modernisation of two of our Piers. TfL's vision is to reimagine these spaces to be state of the art passenger spaces, with interesting new partnerships.
TfL are looking to enhance the long-term future of the piers, as well as maximise capacity and investigate ways to generate revenue to reinvest into our transport network, including river services. The two piers in scope are Festival Pier and Greenwich Pier. These piers represent the greatest opportunity for investment, given their prominent locations in areas of cultural significance, with high passing footfall.
TfL is aiming to create an opportunity to redevelop two of our iconic piers with input and engagement from the market we want to shape this opportunity as best as possible. Our desired objectives are as follows:
-Drive greater footfall through the creation of destination piers
-Create innovative spaces that compliment the cultural significance of the surrounding sites
-Safeguard and improve the core operations of the piers as passenger stops
TfL is seeking initial feedback from the market via a Microsoft Forms questionnaire, this can be found in our briefing and scope document- https://content.tfl.gov.uk/river-services-pier-development-opportunity-summary-brochure.pdf.
Also, our summary brochure can be found here- https://content.tfl.gov.uk/river-services-pier-development-opportunity-summary-brochure.pdf.
Respondents are asked to complete the questionnaire by 28th of June 2024.
TfL may also invite participants to further engagement sessions, in order to discuss their feedback.
