description
The purpose of this Prior Information Notice (PIN) is to update potential providers regarding the proposed procurement of a new multi-provider framework agreement for Early Career Framework (ECF)-based training for 2025 to 2028.
The Department is grateful for the comments received so far from all those who have participated in the market engagement process. Subject to final approvals, the Department is on track to commence the procurement process in late February/early March 2024.
In preparation for the procurement process, potential providers should access and review the new content framework entitled, ‘Initial Teacher Training and Early Career Framework’, that designed materials must adhere to. This can be accessed and downloaded from: https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/initial-teacher-training-and-early-career-framework
As set out in the previous PIN, ECF-based training is currently delivered by 6 providers ("Lead Providers") appointed to a multi-provider framework agreement. In addition, the School-Led Development Trust (SLDT) who operate the National Institute of Teaching (NIoT), provide ECF-based training together with a broader range of other related services under a separate sole-supplier framework agreement and will continue to do so alongside the new multi-provider framework agreement. SLDT will be required to deliver to the same requirements as other Lead Providers, and their training content will be assured in the same way and to the same timescales, as other Lead Providers.
